Last Day of Whistler

Last Day of Whistler Mtn today, so everybody (me included) to give Whistler a last ride. Me as well, as I rode Whistler last a couple weeks ago.
After messing around for some time I went over to Harmony, a lift I took just one time before today. Such a good decision, only very few people at the lift and I actually found tree runs with 20cm fresh, looks like nobody had the balls to go there. So I lapped there about ten times, had an amazing time and being so stoked right now. Check the pics.

Chasing the pow in April

Went for a 2 hrs hike to poop chutes today.

Bluebird and so effing warm, I took off my T-Shirt and sunbathed for 15 minutes.

We found some nice snow, little slushy but soft and not sunbaked. Though Avalanche Risk was low, we had a slide in the chute we had to hike up, just before we got there. Actually the guy in the red pants had to step out of the way of the avi.

When going down another pretty big slide went down, we all made our way down though and were stoked on our runs.

By the way:
How much was a litre of milk in Hamburg again?

Where I've been in the last few months

Word was spread this morning that the iPhone is tracking your location since iOS 4.
The guy who detected the file where all the data is collected in developed a Mac App to show the locations you've been to on a map.

So far it looks like the file is not sent to Apple but saved on your iPhone and the Computer you synchronize it with.

Oh damn. Now my girl knows that I got an affair in Hessen..
But seriously, this must be the time at the Airport of Frankfurt.

Hamburg and Whistler. Nice places to be.

What's different #3

You might already know

that burgers, selfmade or not, just taste better if you are on the continent of North America.
Yeah, they were delicious.

But did you know ...

that Canadians are driving the VW Routan, something in between Touran and Sharan?

that they are rocking the Routan with 50 km/h and not mph?
They also got °C here, nice thing!

What I do all day long

Cause I've been asked for footage of me, I made sure to get some shots of me during the last (perfect) days.
I am not taking it too serious right now because I don't want to ruin my season, especially after I heard my should cracked on the first day here and 4 of my 5 housemates got knee problems, I avoid rail riding pretty much and stick to some 50-50ies and don't improve there too much. Therefore I have the time of my live chasing the pow (and filming my buddies).

Thanks to Jordan for the shots.

Had an awesome day today, hiked for a bit in the beautiful sun, got some awesome shots of my boys killing a pretty steep face and afterwards hitting a pow kicker for a couple of hours. Check the pics.

Me after the hike up to the top of Blackcomb

The view up there.

The others hitting this amazing face. Wait for the shots in next Whistler Wednesdays Episode.

Jordan pulling a pretty perfect method.

Timelapse testing

Did some test shooting today. This is the timelapse of snow melting. I used the 550D with Magic Lantern. It was set to take a picture every 5 seconds. The outcome isn't perfect, mostly because of unstable light. Will work on my timelapsing skills ;)

It is spring

Not much to read on the blog, reason for that mostly is me being lazy, not too much sun in the last days.
Therefor it was supposed to be good today, sunny, warm and only very few clouds.

Well, what should I say. Had a great day though not everything worked out well.
The second I got in to the gondola it started snowing out of nowhere. Got up to the park, flat light, not what you are looking for if you want to film. The sun came out again, but it snow was too sticky for the riders to hit the jumps. So not much shots there.
Then wanted to film with Jamie, unfortunately he broke his skibinding just before we could start filming the big kickers while performing a hockeybrake on a small kicker to not land on a kid which was sitting in the landing.

Finally went to the Blackcomb Glacier together with Jordan, Adam and his girl and did a little hike to get some pow in the sun for the last run of the day. Was really sweet.

I also pulled some photography skills, check the pics.
